Our technologically advanced line uses the highest quality materials, which means beautiful results faster.
Cortex Solo 450 Collection is new to the market and made for professionals in the beauty industry. You probably could have guested this iron heats up to 450 degrees F, the hottest in the market. Adjustable heat and ergonomically designed this flat iron can be used on ultra thick frizzy hair or ultra thin hair. The results are amazing!
Nano Titanium Technology : provides lightweight strength, has a super hard, smooth surface for snag free styling and even heat distribution. Titanium plates is also an exceptional conductor of hear that emits negative ions and far infrared heat.
1. Preserve more moisture within the hair shaft
2. Eliminates frizz and close the cuticle to create smooth and shiny hair
3. Causes less damage to the hair cuticle during styling
Negative Ion Technology: Negative ions are atoms that can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, etc., resulting in healthier hair and scalp. Negative ion energy is powerful enough to break apart clusters of water molecules. The smaller water molecules penetrate into the hair shaft by slipping between the cuticles, adding plumpness/volume to hair. The bombardment of negative ions also closes the hair cuticle, which is very good for the health and appearance of the hair.
Far Infrared Heat : Far Infrared (FIR) rays are electro-magnetic waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, capable of penetrating deep into the human body, including the hair shaft. It therefore dries the hair from the inside out. The result is that more moisture remains in the hair shaft and there is less damage to the hair.
Review:
Upon receiving the Cortex from Flat Iron Experts, I was a bit frazzled. It was not due to the flatiron but because I have not flat ironed my hair for over 2 years and I was not sure what kind of damage the heat may cause. Luckily, Tommy, from flatironexperts.com, was very helpful in helping me pick a flat iron just right for my thick, coarse kinky curly locs.
With out hesitation I was directed to try the Cortex 450 Solo Titanium straightener. Most natural women who seek to ease their kinks for a straighter look, tend to opt foe a 100% ceramic iron which is better than those that are just ceramic coated because the coating rubs off easily.
Having a Titanium iron in my possession left me a bit curious. My initial reaction was, “What the heck is Titanium?” . After a short search, a young lady from a hair forum helped me to better understand the metal or substance at hand.
Titanium is a lustrous, low-density, lightweight metal derived from igneous rock, known for its strength and high-temperature stability. Titanium is corrosion resistant, conducts heat more evenly and heats up faster than ceramic. Also, titanium has a higher ionic output than ceramic, leaving hair shinier.
With this given information I went ahead and flat ironed my precious Toni (My hair). Flat ironing was one of the easiest tasks I had to complete in my hair journey. The settings made heating up the iron a piece of cake. It was easy to tell when the flat iron was ready to use because of the light indicator. The heat settings ranged from 140 degrees to 450 degrees. Because my hair was curly I used 400 degrees (You can safely iron your hair without serious damage up to 420 degrees for coarse hair according to Natural Haven.com). The iron heated up in matter of seconds which each pass. Because the iron was very hot, there was an iron rest for the straightener so that countertops and any other flammable items would not be damaged (go Experts!). The holder especially helped when it came to draining the excess product, that including grease, from the iron. The swivel cord on the iron made it easy to maneuver especially for the stubborn paces in the back of my head. The iron left my hair silky for days. I do not think I have ever used a device that left my hair so soft and flowy,
Although I was amazed I did have a minor issue. My hair had a tendency to get oily so that made the grip on the iron not so great. I found it hard at times to hold the iron so I had to use a towel to keep the grip.
Would I recommend this? Heck yes! Especially because it leaves the hair movability and heats up fast! The lustrous silky shine the plates leave, makes this a must have tool!

Review:
To review this item, I used it in conjunction with Chi Flat Iron Guard. I must say that this light weight product was much more light weight and helped my hair press experience less tedious than I expected. My hair was much more silkier and it provided my hair with more movement. I used this in the front while the Chi Flat Iron Guard was in the back of my hair. Though the Chi served its purpose the KQC thermal shine was less stickier and had an airy feel. It sprayed on wet but came out dry. It most definitely minimized the frizz! A little went a long way.
Would I recommend it? YES!
Thanks Flat Iron Experts for allowing me to share this great experience with others!
