2011 Carry Overs #naturalhair

There were a few items back in 2011 that I could just not leave in the past. These items I guess can be put in my “holy grail”. Well no so much… because there are other items that should be added to this list but I must say, that these items will be helping me bring in the New year with more than a bang but a BOOM BANG BAY BAY!!! lol1. Giovanni Direct Leave-In This stuff is like crack to the crack heads… I believe the ingredient that makes this leave worthwhile is the aloe vera. It restores my hair balance and seals in the moisture. This is great for my after washes because the slippage it gives is unimaginable 2. Wide tooth This bad boy de-tangler got me through a lot of nappy times. I found this in a BSS and use it when I detangle when my tangle teaser pisses me off. Although it takes longer to detangle section the wide teeth is however helpful in the endeavor. Not to mention it has a handle! 3. Babassu Amla Shampoo Bar I El oh Vee Ehh this bar! Guys I have never experienced a shampoo that I have fell in love with but this is the best hands down. When I use this its like conditioner doesn’t even exists because it both conditions and cleans all at once. This bad boy lathers so fast and that’s a part of the reason why Anita Grant’s shampoo bar is the love of my life. 4.Back combs Well well well… hair pins do just as well but this clear comb makes styles have a little bit more edge. They are quick and easy to use and harder to lose because my pins go in a blink of an eye. 5. Misses Jessies Curling pudding First and foremost, Misses Jessies lower your gosh darn prices please! Anyway now that that’s off my chest, this is one of the only products that I have found that stretches my hair while it is still styled wet. Mind you it has cones that my hair doesn’t typically like but when used sparingly Toni loves this stuff. I will surely keep this styling agent for my future twist out and coil outs =) Out with the old and in with the new? Not this time!

First ever coil out attempt #naturalhair

A few weeks ago I decided to try something new with good ole Toni. I washed with Anita grants shampoo bar (its oh so lovely review coming soon).  Then I did medium coils which didn’t really stay.Afterwards I used miss Jessie’s curling pudding and then made it sit over night. Unfortunately the results were poor. But I decided I would share… Side note: misses Jessie’s curling pudding is great! Once I learn how to coils properly perhaps it will come out better but for now we will stick with side puffs.   Sent from my Windows Phone

Cone Free Products

Not sure if I ever mentioned this to any of my readers but Toni hates cones. And when I say hate I mean DESPISE! This hate of silcones (the bad ones) has always caused me to search deeply through the ingredients of my hair products. My hair hasn’t always hate silcones but one day I woke up and BAM. It rejected any product that I used that contained cones. My hair always becomes brittle and extra dry when I use them. So if any of you are like me, you may want to stay away from the following “bad”(not water soluble)  cones. *remember: not all cones are harmful or damaging but it just depends on the reaction your hair has with them.   Bad Cones: Cetearyl Methicone Cetyl Dimethicone Dimethicone Dimethiconol Stearyl Dimethicone Amodimethicone Cyclomethicone/Cyclopentasiloxane Trimethylsilylamodimethicone Behenoxy Dimethicone Stearoxy Dimethicone And courtesy of Lady Long Hair Here are some products that are cone free that may help you out! DIY Flaxseed Gel

I never showed the world my process of making flaxseed gel but I will show you guys later on, the final product of using homemade flaxseed gel. The first time I used the gel I fell in love but I never took any pics so as soon as i’m finished with this protective style I will certainly be doing a wash and go with this gel. How to make gel (via Napatural85): My Gel: The items I use to make my gel from to time varies drastically. But for this particular recipe, check out the ingredients below.  1/2 cup Flaxseed 2 cups water 1 tsp Vitamin E oil 1/4 cup Aloe vera juice 5 drops Rosemary oil 2 drops tea tree oil
