Live Designs Allow me to introduce the owner of Live Designs, an up and coming fashion company. When I was first introduced to this online shop, I immediately fell in love with the fresh authentic designs! What made it even better was that most of the items were unisex wear! If you do not believe me take a look for yourself, and read more about what this aspiring owner has to say about the business below! My name is Rochester Forbes Jr. but i go by RJ and I am a 16 year old entrepreneur. My interests are technology, electronics and designing. My future goal is to become an electronic engineer. The idea to act on my interest of designing started through a school assignment and I molded it into a business that could grow and become bigger and better.Going into the design and fashion industry is intimidating when I think of the larger companies because I wonder why would a customer choose my product over a well known product however I believe everyone has a variety of tastes and my work will be accepted just as others’ work has been welcomed. One initial obstacle was funding however, I worked with what I had and the contributions from family members to pick my business off the ground. My motivation is knowing this is my probably the biggest thing I’ve ever set my mind to and feel passionate about so I want to see it become a successful business.I’d describe my style as casual, sporty, urban and more importantly comfortable. In the designs I’ve showcased so far you can definitely see the influence of my style: simple, sporty and comfy swag.In the next 5 years I plan to see my clothing appear in stores and begin plans to open my open store. To other aspiring business owners, set your mind on what it is you want to do and do it; don’t let anyone stop you. I was given the opportunity by Lustrasilk(Inspired Beauty Brands) to review their natural hair product line within the month of June. I used all of these products for a span of approximately 2-3 weeks. Below you will find my honest opinions and questions pertaining to the 7 products they sent me. Curl Max Curl Enhancing ShampooSize: 12 ozIngredients: Water, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Glycol Distearate, Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Coconut Oil, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Linoleamidopropyl PG-Dimonium, Chloride Phosphate, Citric Acid, Magnesium Nitrate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, FragranceScent: This shampoo didn’t have a tangible smell in my opinion. The only word I could use to describe it is “Refreshing”.Consistency: It was think enough to apply and not too runnyGeneral Opinion: I personally did not care for the shampoo. It did clarify my hair, but my hair felt dry after the first wash. I guess it really did cleanse my hair without the use of sulfates, however I am not too big of a fan when it comes o shampoos, so I do not want my thoughts to be bias. Generally speaking, it does as it says it will. When I was washing my hair with this product, I did see my curls forming, but I would not say it “enhanced my curls.” If I were to purchase this shampoo I would definitely use this in conjunction with their deep conditioner to combat the dryness the shampoo provides. Rate: 2.5/5 Curl Max Deep Penetrating ConditionerSize: 8ozIngredients: Water (Aqua,Deionized), Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Lanolin,Quaternium-18,Keratin Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia Nut) Seed Oil, Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Equisetum Hiemale Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract, Pinus Strobus Cone Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettles) Extract, Panthenol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, FragranceScent: Again, I do not have a specific word to describe the scent except “fresh”Consistency: Thick/Creamy but applicableGeneral Opinion: Out of all the products I received from the company, this was my favorite! When I put this product on my tresses, I immediately felt the moisture infusing with my hair strands. It really did give my hair the moisture it needed. I used this product as both a deep conditioner and a co-washing agent. This conditioner gave me the slip power I needed to detangle my hair. After I washed out the product my hair felt strengthened and had a bit of a sheen too it. I loved everything about this products and had no complaints. Rate: 5/5Curl Max Curl Activator MoisturizerSize: 20 ozIngredients: Water , Glycerine , Sorbitol , Cetrimonium Chloride , Hydrolyzed Collagen , Simethicone , Stearyl Alcohol , Cetyl Alcohol , Methylparaben , DMDM Hydantoin , Argania Spinosa Nut Oil (Argan) , Fragrance , Phosphoric Acid , Yellow 6 , Red 33Scent: NoneConsistency: Liquidly, slightly thick smooth substanceGeneral Opinion: This product acted as my moisturizer after my washes. I did see my curls pop after using an ample amount on my hair. I considered this product a little more mediocre on the moisturizing side because after I applied it my hair felt a bit more sticky than moisturized. I did however like how my hair set after using the activator. It also worked very well with the mousse in this line. This also mixes very well with gels and white residues are not left like other moisturizers. I think it is pretty clever to make the curl activator a moisturizer as well. It beats buying two separate products. I think this activator would work to enhance curls in thicker hair. Rate: 3.5/5 Curl Max Extra Light Curl ActivatorSize: 16 ozIngredients: Water , Glycerine , Mineral Oil , Stearyl Alcohol , Stearamidoethyl Ethanolamine , Polyquaternium-10 , Methylparaben , DMDM Hydantoin , Argania Spinosa Nut Oil (Argan) , Fragrance , Lactic Acid , Silk Amino Acids , Sodium HyaluronateScent: NoneConsistency: It felt more like a liquid gelGeneral Opinion: I enjoyed using this product as an extra hold underneath my gel styles. It caused me to use less gel on my styles. Though this was probably not the purpose of the product, I did utilize it in this manner. I sometimes thought this activator worked well if I wanted my ponytail’s curl to pop. Generally speaking, I did not see too much a difference in this product and the regular activator. I suppose if you are not looking for an extra defined look, this product would be good for your hair type. This activator left a sticky feeling on my hands after use, but nothing too dramatic. I think this works well as a substitute setting lotion as well. It left my hair with an awesome sheen though I must say.Rate: 3/5 Curl Max Curl Pudding Size: 8ozIngredients: Water , Glycerin , Polysorbate-20 , PVP , VA Copolymer , Hydroxyethyl Cellulose , Polyquaternium-7 , Styrene VP , Copolymer , Hydrolyzed Silk , Panthenol , Fragrance , Propylene Glycol , Cyclotetrasiloxane , Phenoxyethanol , Caprylyl Glycol , Carbomer , Tocopheryl Acetate , TriethanolamineScent: NoneConsistency: thick and creamyGeneral Opinion: I used this item a few times. I first used this to do a twist out on my hair. The results were decent, but nothing extravagant. My hair was shiny but I felt that it weighed my curls down too much, and was quite greasy. I think less it more when it comes to this product. Because it is thick it takes a little bit more time for this to dry on your head, so be careful when using it. Be sure to allot enough drying time. This product does help with enhancing your braidout/twistouts but you have to find the right techniques and product conjunctions with this. Rate: 3/5 Curl Max Super Curly Mousse Size: 8ozIngredients: water , Polyquaternium-11 , butane , Propane , Polyquaternium-68 , Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (Argan) , Polyquaternium 4 ,
Qoileez!! “What is that?” was probably the first reaction you experienced upon hearing the term. To dissolve all quizzical looks and feelings in regards to what it is, let me explain. Qoileez is a new invention meant to serve as a multipurpose item. They are mostly considered as an affordable hair accessory that can be utilized for different purposes as well. When I initially received the item for review, I was concerned with my utilization of the product. There are some demos online that explain how it can be used, but I wanted to expand on the initial uses. Qoileez can be used as stated on the site as, a hair accessory, knitting holders, chopstick holders, pencil holders/ grips etc. I tried a few of the recommended uses and found them to be extremely more helpful than I intended. I was hesitant when I utilized Qoileez as a hair accessory because the ends of the Qoileez looked a it sharp, which is always a scare for hair. I did not want them to rip or snag on anything but it worked out just fine for the braid I attached it to. I personally believe that one of the best uses is using Qoileez as a hair accessory. I continued to try these as a crochet needle holder while I was at it because I genuinely didn’t have anything to hold those small needles with anyway. Below are a few more pictures of how I utilized Qoileez. The Make: In my opinion these items feel more rubbery and silicone-like rather than the plastic that the site stated it was formed from. They are about an inch long and very expandable. I am unsure of the length stretched because it is hard to make these items lie flat. The standard form of a Qoileez is a coil! The name is a straight giveaway, so when you expand the Qoileez and then let go, it retracts and curls right back up which makes it easy to hold thing, like my scarves! Qoileez come in a variety of colors and designs that make them both fashionable and practical. I believe Qoileez are marketable because they appear attractive to the eye and are most useful as space savers/holders. Most people seek items that save space especially because I believe we al have a bit of hoarder in us. They are sold in basic packages of seven for $4.99 or deluxe packages of 14 for $7.99. I have not used these items for a long time to say whether or not the retraction/elasticity for lack of a better word is long lasting. Giveaway: Qoileez has offered NH readers an opportunity to win and try out some of these items as well! Here are the rules: 1. Follow both @Qoileez and I @CiaE7 on Twitter 2. Send us a tweet with this “ I can’t wait to win my @Qoileez thanks @Ciae7” 3. Follow @ciae7 Instagram The giveaway ends June 7th 11:59pm. The winner will have 48 hours to responded before it is given to someone else. Check out Qoileez here
Dress United Once again, Nearly Hair was given the opportunity to partner with BuildASign.com to try out their new services. The last time it was all about their custom business cards, check post here, however this time, their service is one more relatable and usable for everyone. BuildASign.com (Dress United) now has a custom T-shirt service provider that allows you to design and mass produce. How awesome is that? The platform they created for customers are easy and user friendly. I personally had no issue creating a shirt. The platform prompts you to choose between the shirt`s fit, meaning female or unisex, along with color, size, and style. Their styles range from American Eagle to Hanes. The options the website provides amazes me because it gives you, the designer, more le-way in terms of the look and feel. The users are able to upload personal pictures in addition to the clip art, letters and premade designs available. The only drawback is the lack of unlimited workspace. You are given space on both front and back, I’m not sure exact measurements, but if you wanted to have something on the edge, you would not be able to do so. When I received my shirt it took about two weeks or so, and required no sign off. The shirt looked exactly as I designed, true to color and size. However, I did become turned off with the odor. The shirt smelled like molding clothing, hopefully when washed the odor will subside. The ink also felt a tad bit ironed on than infused in the shirt. It was hard to distinguish what method was used. Sometimes, ironed on graphics can be problematic because they peel easily. I have not encountered this problem yet because the shirt is new but it seems of good quality so I have little doubt. The shirt itself was a durable material. Their customer service is exceptional as usual, and they are more than easy to contact if any questions may arise. I used Dress United for a music production business because I believed the shirts were wholesome enough to use. The shirt cost varies by the amount you order but if you are reading this post and are interested, NH readers receive 30% off their orders and FREE Shipping with the code BLOG30OFF4U. If you haven’t already, mosey on over there now!
Product: Ishimma Papaya Lime Conditioner Ishimma, a new rising product line, sent me a couple of goodies to review. The first product I encountered was the conditioner. I decided to include this into my regimen as an after wash moisturizer. This product can be used as both a wash out or leave-in conditioner. Price: 10.99 USD Their Claims : If you’re looking for a natural conditioner for dry hair, you’ve come to the right place! This Papaya Lime Conditioner moisturizes, conditions, and nourishes the hair with wonderful oils such as avocado and moisturizing fruit extracts. Formulated to make for easier combing and styling, it is also safe for co-washing, overnight conditioning, and general conditioning. Fortifies and strengthen the hair strand with hydrolyzed protein. After just a few minutes of having this conditioner on your hair, it is softer and more manageable. For ladies with relaxed hair, you’ll experience silkier, bouncier hair after one use. Believe us, your hair will thank you! Ingredients( all are not listed because my letters rubbed off): Water, Aloe Vera (moisturizer), Glycerin (humectant), Protein, Avocado oil (conditioner), Wheat Germ oil (conditioner), Peppermint oil (astringent/scalp soothing), Rosemary oil (scalp stimulant/growth), Eucalyptus oil (stimulator/growth ); Papaya, Lime, and Hibiscus* Extracts, Vitamin E (anti-oxidant/conditioner) *Organic The consistency is a mixture of creamy and watery. It makes for a “Custard like” consistency in my opinion. I personally liked the smell of the conditioner. Though I have no idea what papaya is supposed to smell like, however the lingering scent was pleasant. There was definitely I tangible smell of lime in my opinion which was easy on the nose. My overall thoughts: I used this product for a course of two weeks. As stated above, I included the conditioner as an after wash conditioner, not compromising the products properties with any other product. I wanted true results so the Ishimma line was the only products I used. Because the consistency was a bit on the light side, I had to use more than the recommended amount, however their oil(review bellow) I used to seal helped the moisturizing properties. I personally believe I would have made this a staple if the consistency was thicker when I applied it to my hair instead of being runny. One thing I did like about the product was the inclusion of protein. This is most beneficially because my hair strands are currently heat damaged. If my tresses were not damaged I would have disliked this inclusion because excessive protein does not usually cooperate with my hair. The protein is great for strengthening my strands, so that made me love it. I mostly enjoyed this product as a refreshing moisturizer. I tried this product on an old twist out to revive the moisture and it made a difference for the flexibility and strength of my strands. For me, this worked a little bit more when my hair was dry rather than wet. I wasn’t too fond that I couldn’t have use this as a detangler, but this wasn’t delivered as a “miracle product” so that is fine. I would recommend this to someone who requires a lower potency product for moisture. Product: Ishimma Cocomint Hair Oil Price: 6.99 Their Claims: Immediately softens your hair with cocomint hair oil , a mixture of rich oils to protect the hair structure and add luster. End breakage with this blend of conditioning and nourishing oils, such as coconut hair oil. Infused with peppermint oil for soothing the scalp and a pleasant aroma. Our oil is completely natural with no silicones, mineral oils, or parabens. Ingredients: Sunflower oil* (conditions), Coconut oil* (conditions/retains moisture), Olive oil* (conditions), Peppermint oil (soothe/growth stimulant), Vitamin E (anti-oxidant/conditioner) *Organic This was the second product sent to me by the line. I used this in conjunction with the moisturizer. The consistency was light for oil, I am guessing there weren’t any heavy oils included. The smell of this oil is pretty darn scrumptious. It smells very smooth, if that makes sense, because it does not have harsh scents. My thoughts: I would most definitely incorporate this into my regiment because it was an excellent sealer! I rarely had to apply this because my hair seemed to have taken heed to the product. It didn’t just lay on my hair it seemed to have provided sheen and slight moisture. I especially enjoyed using this as I took down my styles, ie. twistouts and braids. However, I would have preferred if the oil contained more oils stimulating hair growth, but beggars can not be choosers. I truly believe this product does what it is intended to do. Other purposes: I tried to warm this oil up and use it as a hot oil treatment and it was tre magnifique! It left my hair shiny and soft! After washing out the oil it did not weight my hair down either as I would have initially expected! Two thumbs up for the oil! I would recommend this to all oil lovers J Hot oil Treatment with Streamer The results Check out the other products they have to offer here . http://www.ishimma.com/
Well guys I am back at it. I’m on my weave movement. Yes that is right my weave movement. This is simply because I am too darn lazy to groom this full head of hair I have on my brain. The crazy part is, the weave is just as time consuming but I supposed I don’t allow myself to believe such things. I recently purchased the most inexpensive virgin hair you could ever find. My review today is a duo! Beautylish Boutique I discovered Beautylish Boutique(BB) accidentally, but thank God I did. As some of you may know I recently purchased a nexus 7 and the Beautylish Boutique application was offered. Because I have very little aplication action going on, on the tablet I downloaded the application. Best decision of my life! (yes I over exaggerate). This boutique has beautifully organized products, making the shopping experience easy and searchable. BB offers product reviews and user uploaded pictures to produce the clarity and usability of each item. When you sign up you also get a new user discount on your first purchase! now that rocks Armour Beauty (Last Dance) When I received my Armour beauty lip-gloss, I never recognized the brand. However I did decide to purchase the product to give it a chance especially because of the unanimously great reviews it received. The gloss reminds me of the mac collection lip-glosses but 10 times better. It has just enough stay power as a lip-gloss which shocked me because again, this product is not a mainstream product. The name of the gloss is Last dance and it provides an excellent tint to my lips =) Armour advertises their lip-gloss with the tag line “A gloss that wears like a lipstick” so I had to see what was up. Out of the other 19 glosses I choose this one (last dance) because it looked highly pigmented in the product picture but on my lips it was a different story. In the picture it was a deep maroon color, but it showed up a bit more sheer than solid but I could still detect the color. The color lasts a good 2.5 hours which is great for lip-gloss. After the 2.5 hours I only touched up for a shine because the color was still stained on my lips (I suppose the tag line is true). The gloss is a bit on the sticky side but not tremendously disgusting. It is also pricey! Ohh honey child this product runs for $21 . I would have to dig deep for a purchase like this. I would not have purchased this, but I had a new user coupon for the boutique so I went ahead and purchased it. The smell is to die for. Now I am not a huge fan of smelly products but the aroma is of fresh vanilla which makes it yummy smelling. It makes me want to eat my own lips…that how they get you so you can buy more of the gloss After a little bit of research, I know that there are other places online to purchase this product but I am not sure if it is sold in stores which would beat the shipping cost. I would love to try another gloss in a different shade to review, but these lip beauties will have to be a 3 month treat to myself. Would I recommend this? You already know I would! It is a staple for me
